The British Council, as part of its United Kingdom/Nigeria 2015/2016 season, is organising Script Junction, a screenwriting programme to connect writers from both countries.
About Script Junction
Designed by British Council in collaboration with the UK National Film & TV School (NFTS), the Nigerian Film Institute (NFI), the Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) and the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF), Script Junction will bring together contemporary screenwriters.
The programme will involve workshops, mentoring and development programmes that will help the writers to develop and create screenplays.
Script Junction will be in two parts, with a first, 5-day workshop holding in June 2016 during the Edinburgh International Film Festival, and a second 5-day workshop holding during at the African International Film Festival in Calabar, Nigeria.
Flights (including visas), accommodation and meals will be provided for participants.
Writers are to submit:
- A 60-120 page-long past feature-length film as a writing sample.
- A proposal of up to 1000 words detailing the new film idea that will be developed during the programme.
- A cover letter of up to 400 words, on why you want to take part in Script Junction.
- Personal details: full name, phone number and email address.
