When it comes to poetry envy, after Warsanshire, it has to be Titilope Sonuga. Her words are so vivid you feel like you can taste them. Titi’s latest offering are a compendium on her thoughts on the terrorist bombings that have been going on in Nigeria and of course the case of the two hundred plus abducted Chibok girls. Hide and seek is an honest and beautiful poem. A great follow up from the haunting Icarus which was featured on her album Mother Tongue. It is a reflective and moving narrative and thanks to jazz guitarist Femi Leye adding strings and conga drums, it makes for a must listen.
