My sophomore album ‘In Memory Of Forgetting’ is finally here. Just a week ago, i decided to share it with a few friends and supporters of my work thanks to Rele gallery who provided me with their beautiful space. It didn’t quite know what to expect or how the event would turn out but i am glad to say that it was completely engaging and the energy in the room was nothing short of magic. Creating new work is always a scary thing but it makes all the anxiety worth while when people connect with the work in a deeply personal way.
It has taken over a year putting this work together and thanks to working with producers like Femi Leye, Echo and my creative collaborator Lanre ‘Sabre’ Oladimeji, i am really proud of the work we have created. We wanted to create something that was both thematically and sonically cohesive and i think we were able to achieve that. I also have two collaborations on the album. One with a wonderful singer called Cat Mayel and my dear friend and fellow sister in poetry Titilope.
This album contains some of my most intimate and personal poems exploring brokenness and vulnerability as well as an attempt to navigate self-renewal.
Whilst you feast on the photos, you can also purchase the album on iTunes, Amazon, Deezer, Spotify, Tidal and CD baby
