This poetry life has been such an interesting rollercoaster but I have to say it has opened unimaginable spaces for me and I wouldn’t have it any other way. To think that this all started as an angst ridden teenager needing catharsis, I think I haven’t done too badly.
I recently got to work with Abiola Sobo of Suss productions to put together new visuals for my poem “The Revolution”. This poem came to me at a time when I was deeply in need of affirmation and parts of it is also an ode to the Gil Scott-Heron poem. I had this vision of a message beaming into television screens disrupting regular programming. Abiola liked the idea as well and I think we both came up with something that made us both pleased.
Happy viewing
